Notes on the Transcription Process

We have used a simple, standard form, with as much pre-coded data as possible, and a tool that everyone has on their computer, being Microsoft EXCEL. In conjunction with the deployment of the template spreadsheets for each year, we issued a set of instruction notes. As this project has evolved, we have issued several updates for the benefit of the volunteers who have been performing the transcription of the records. The latest version appears below.
