Trotters Trivia

The Turramurra Trotters have covered more than 525,000 kilometers, equal to running to London more than 36 times or round the world perhaps close to 20 times or more. They have spent more than 45,000 hours running around the streets of Turramurra.

By the end of 2008, more than 1750 people had passed through the ranks of the Turramurra Trotters. Some Trotters have been running with the TTs since its inception in 1974, and are still running. These stalwarts who have been on the trot for morev than 35 years are identified in the 'T' FILES. By the end of 2008, they will have covered more than 10,000 kilometres on an individual basis and spent up to 900 hours each trotting around the streets of Turramurra.

Following the great interest in community running and fun runs in the 1980s, numbers had been falling off around the turn of the century, however in 2008 and 2009 the Turramurra Trotters is going through a bit of a renaissance and the Saturday turnout is increasing, with a growing proportion of younger people and females joining and an increasing number of participants boosting the numbers of walkers, all good to see. The following table gives some indication of the participation through the last 35 years.

From here you can navigate to information regarding

  1. Famous Trotters and those who have achieved infamy for various nefarious reasons
  2. Taskmasters who have held various roles in the activities and affairs of the Trotters with a range of success and disaster
  3. Overseas Reports of the various excursions organised by the Trotters over the last 30 years or so.
  4. The Trotters Song ... er, yes ... ahem, well ... er, um ....
  5. Benefactors of the Trotters being a list of the names of those who have put their hands in their pockets to support our financial resources on an unofficial basis - well, these are the Trotters Creditors ... and we thank them sincerely for caring about this great little community institution
  6. History of Trotters Wrestling with Technology ... only of interest to dinosaurs and the bloke who wrote it (well, he is one).
